  • Basque Parliament recognises Nagorno-Karabakh self-determination

    On Friday, September 12, 2014, a European Union regional parliament has, for the first time in history, adopted a motion supporting the self-determination of Nagorno-Karabakh following several official visits to the region that were organized by European Friends of Armenia (EuFoA) and the commitment of EuFoA contacts' network.The motion adopted today by the Basque Parliament praises the strong determination of the Nagorno-Karabakh people in their choice for democracy, despite the hard and difficult situation.

  • Tension rises dangerously in Nagorno-Karabakh as ceasefire negotiations are underway

    European Friends of Armenia (EuFoA) shares the "deep concern" that members of the Minsk Group and the OSCE expressed after a visit to Nagorno-Karabakh amid increasing violence in the region, especially after tensions have been growing in the past week.
    The number of casualties has dramatically risen over the weekend, including those of Armenian and Karabakhi civilians.

  • Parliament of Spanish autonomous community of Navarre recognises Armenian Genocide

    As a result of several study visits organised by EuFoA to Armenia and NK with different parliamentarians, the Parliament of Navarre has adopted yesterday (23 June 2014) a declaration recognising the Armenian Genocide. The declaration, adopted by the unicameral Parliament on 23 June 2014, reads that "in accordance with the resolution of the European Parliament of June 1987, reaffirmed by subsequent resolutions (February 28, 2002 and April 1, 2004), the events suffered by the Armenian people are an authentic genocide".
