  • Charles Aznavour awards Baroness Cox in Geneva

    On Monday, 25 November 2013, Ambassador and Maestro Charles AZNAVOUR personally awarded The Charles Aznavour Prize for Outstanding Achievements in Fostering Europe-Armenian Friendship to Baroness Caroline COX. The prize was created by EuFoA and the Europe-Armenia Advisory Council.

  • Joint FPC-EuFoA event in London on Nagorno-Karabakh

    On 9 October 2013, the London-based Foreign Policy Centre, jointly with EuFoA, organised a panel discussion on the current situation of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, with EUSR Ambassador Lefort as keynote speaker. EuFoA was glad to see a great number of participants and government representatives attending the event.

  • Green light to EU-Armenia visa facilitation agreement

  • EU and Armenia complete negotiations on the Association Agreement

    In a joint statement released today, EU High Representative Catherine Ashton and Enlargment Commissioner Stefan Fule announced completion of the negotiations on the Association Agreement (AA) with Armenia, which now awaits initialing during the Vilnius Summit on 29 November. Yesterday, the EU and Armenia concluded negotiations on the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA), which is part of the Association Agreement.

  • EuFoA event in Yerevan on Karabakh conflict

    On 11 July 2013 EuFoA organised a panel discussion in Yerevan about the current situation of the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process: "Looking at Europe's next avoidable war: Nagorno-Karabakh". We were delighted to see so much interest from civil society, media and some institutional representatives at the event.

  • Roundtable briefing on security challenges for Armenia

    At short notice, EuFoA learnt about the visit to the NATO headquarters of 6 Members of the Armenian Parliament (Alexander Arzoumanian, Grigor Grigoryan, Ishkhan Khachatryan, Khachatur Kokobelyan, Tevan Poghosyan, and Artur Stepanyan). Using this occasion, EuFoA organised an ad-hoc round-table briefing with them on Wednesday, 19 June 2013. The meeting focused on security challenges which Armenia is facing given its geo-strategic situation.

  • The 3rd session of the EURONEST Parliamentary Assembly took place in Brussels

    The third session of the EURONEST Parliamentary Assembly, forum for parliamentary debate for the Eastern Partnership, took place in Brussels on 28 - 29 May 2013. MEPs and MPs from Eastern Partnership countries discussed issues of energy, EU funding, peace and security and Belarus. Much of the debate was consecrated to the upcoming Eastern Partnership Vilnius Summit, which will take place in November 2014. The goals to reach for the Vilnius Summit have been discussed and identified in the following areas: democracy, rule of law and peace, but most of all, further efforts from governments to implement reforms. Moreover, it was decided that the next Parliamentary Assembly will take place in Yerevan in November 2014.

  • Readmission agreement between EU and Armenia signed in Brussels

    On 19 April 2013, the Readmission Agreement between Armenia and the European Union, which should facilitate migration control and administrative measures for visa requests, was signed in Brussels. Signing of the document is part of the visa liberalisation process and the ongoing Association Agreement negotiations between the EU and Armenia. One agreement - on visa facilitation - has already been signed on 17 December 2012. The Agreement now needs to be ratified by the European Parliament.

  • ENP Country Progress Report on Armenia – 2012

    On 20 March 2013, the European Commission and the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy published the 'Country Report' for Armenia, about progress in the Implementation of the European Neighbourhood Policy for the year 2012 and containing a set of recommendations for the future.
