  • European Parliament Vice President Jacek Protasiewicz visited Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh on 21 and 22 June 2014

    With his trip to Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh, the European Parliament Vice President Jacek Protasiewicz is following the ENP Progress Report's recommendations (Armenia, 2013) and European Parliament resolutions asking Armenia and Azerbaijan to ensure unimpeded access for representatives of the EU to Nagorno-Karabakh in support of conflict transformation activities in full complementarity with the efforts of the Minsk Group.

  • Members of the EFA Delegation together with EuFoA leadership laid flowers at the memorial to the Armenian Genocide victims

    Following the invitation of the political leadership of the Artsakh Democratic Party made during the 12th General Assembly of the European Free Alliance (EFA) earlier this year (14-15 February 2014, Santiago de Compostela of Spain), an EFA Delegation paid a visit to Armenia and the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh on 20-24 June 2014.

  • EuFoA Event in Yerevan: "The Future of EU-Armenia Relations: What’s next?"

    On 18 April 2014, the European Friends of Armenia (EuFoA), supported by the Wilfied Martens Centre for European Studies (WM CES), hosted an event at the Yerevan State University (Yerevan, Armenia) on "The Future of EU-Armenia Relations: What's next?". This event was the occasion for EuFoA to present its recently published short-paper "EU-Armenia relations: future developments and prospects" in order to trigger a discussion on this subject with Armenian civil society, think tanks, and local officials.

  • EuFoA Roundtable with Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan

    On Thursday, 20 March 2014, European Friends of Armenia (EuFoA) organised a roundtable with Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, focusing on the prospects of EU-Armenia cooperation after the Vilnius Summit. In the past, our NGO planned a series of events along these lines, such as last year's roundtable with the secretary of the Heritage faction in the Armenian Parliament, as well as the February 2014 event hosted by the Centre for European Studies (CES), where the recently published paper "Future of EU-Armenia relations" was presented by Mr Lorenzo Ochoa and discussed as a draft.

  • Promising prospects for Armenia and other EaP countries, EP report confirms

    Today, on Wednesday, 12 March, Pawel Kowal's report on assessing and setting priorities for EU relations with the Eastern Partnership countries was adopted by 87% of MEPs present. The European Parliament (EP) calls on the EU to promptly implement policies that will also have a positive effect on Armenia in areas such as mobility, energy and transport, as well as civil society.

  • Historic opportunity for Nagorno Karabakh leaders present at European Free Alliance General Assembly

    Mr Ashot Ghulyan, in his capacity of President of the Democratic party of Nagorno Karabakh, attended the annual European Free Alliance General Assembly, which took place in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, on 14 and 15 February 2014. President Ghulyan explained how the right to self-determination was peacefully put into practice in Nagorno Karabakh in line with international law and the applicable framework back in 1991.
