Dr Michael KAMBECK

Michael is German. He is EuFoA's Secretary General. He holds a PhD in political science from the University of Bonn and a Master's in European Studies from the University of Leeds. He joined EuFoA from Burson-Marsteller, where he worked as the Director for Government Relations and specialised in international media relations for government clients. Before that, he worked as chief of staff for MEP Elmar Brok in the European Parliament. Amongst other jobs, he has also worked in the European Commission's Spokespersons Service in Directorate General PRESS.

Mr Hovhannes J. GRIGORYAN


Hovhannes is Director of EuFoA's Armenian branch in Yerevan. He holds a MA in Sociology from Yerevan State University, where he is currently working towards his PhD on ethnic communication and teaching at the Faculty of Sociology. He co-founded an Armenian youth organisation, YERITAC, and currently leads a group of young research managers with IPSC.

He speaks Armenian, Russian and English.

Mr Paruyr HOVHANNISYAN

Paruyr is Armenian. He is EuFoA's Senior Counsellor. He holds an MA in Theory and History of International Relations from Yerevan State University and an MA in Government and Politics from St John's University, New York. He has previously served as the Third, then Second Secretary of the Armenian Permanent Mission to the UN from 1998 - 2001, as the Head of the International Economic Organisations Division with the MFA of Armenia from 2001 - 2005, and as a Counsellor and Deputy Head of the Armenian Mission to the EU from 2005 - 2009.

He speaks Armenian, Russian, English and French.

Dr Sargis GHAZARYAN

Sargis is EuFoA's Senior Research Fellow. He is Armenian and holds an MA in International Relations and Diplomacy and a PhD in Political Geography and Geopolitics from the University of Trieste. He has been awarded a post-doctoral fellowship in EFSPS (European Foreign and Security Policy Studies) jointly by Compagnia di San Paolo, VolkswagenStiftung and Riksbankens Jubileumsfond. He has been a lecturer of Geopolitics: EU Foreign and Security Policy at the School of International Relations and Diplomacy, University of Trieste. He specialises in the Common Foreign and Security Policy, European Neighbourhood Policy, security sector governance and conflict resolution in the former Soviet Union, and in the Southern Caucasus in particular.

He speaks Armenian, Italian, Russian, English and French.

Ms Lidia GROMADZKA

Lidia is Polish. She first joined the team as an intern, and now works as EuFoA's Project Manager. She holds a Master of Arts in Political Science from Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris, France. Previously she has worked as a research assistant at CEREM (Centre d'Etudes et de Recherche de l'Ecole Militaire) at the French Ministry of Defence and as an intern at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

She speaks Polish, French, English, Russian and Spanish.

Ms Dovile VAN HOREN


Dovile is Lithuanian. She is EuFoA's Team Assistant. She holds a degree in Political sciences from University of Vilnius and a degree in International Relations from Free University of Brussels. Before working for EuFoA, she has made several internships in the National Defence ministry of Lithuania, the Representation of European Commission to Lithuania and the Permanent Representation of Lithuania to the European Union.

She speaks Lithuanian, English, French, Russian and German.

Interns:

Mr Markus BRAUN

Markus is German. He holds a MA in political science from the University of Bonn. Previously he has worked as a scientific assistant at the AZK in Koenigswinter, an educational centre on political issues, and as an intern at the head office of the German liberal Free Democratic Party (FDP) in Berlin.
He speaks German, English and French.

Ms Lilit AIRAPETIAN


Lilit is Dutch but is of Armenian descent. She is in her last year of Bachelor of European Studies at the Hague University in the Netherlands. Recently she became part of the EuFoA's team as an intern. She speaks Armenian, Dutch, Russian, English and French.
