Communications and Media Engagement Officer, BRUSSELS

European Friends of Armenia is recruiting  a Communications and Media Engagement Officer to support the communication efforts and relations with the media.


Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Communications Strategy
  • Review, update and further develop the website, and manage social media accounts
  • Manage blogs and newsletters
  • Draft press releases and other materials useful for journalists
  • Produce and publish info-graphics and short videos
  • Develop and manage contacts with European media outlets and journalists
  • Organise study trips for journalists to Armenia and Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh)
  • Support the planning and implementation of policy events and advocacy campaigns


Skills and competences required:

  • Degree, preferably postgraduate, in a relevant field
  • at least 3 years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience as a journalist, in broadcasting and/or video production are strong pluses
  • Proven networking experience in a multi-national environment
  • Knowledge of culture and history of South Caucasus, particularly of Armenia are a plus but not needed
  • Knowledge of EU structures and decision-making processes
  • Excellent command of English; knowledge of other European languages is a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and ability to publish text and audio-visual content
  • Ability to work in a multi-national environment and to accommodate cultural diversities
  • Ability to take initiatives and to manage time and resources efficiently
  • Readiness to embrace EuFoA’s causes, with passion and dedication
  • Solid IT skills, especially MS Office, but also publishing tools
  • Legal right to work in Belgium

European Friends of Armenia  is recruiting a highly motivated young professional to cover a full-time PAID INTERNSHIP. The applicant will be trained in all aspects of NGO work and will become an integral part of our team.


Your key responsibilities, under the Director’s guidance and supervision, will be

  • Monitoring EU-Armenia relations
  • Organising conferences, research trips and other special events
  • Supporting the build-up of our network
  • Assisting with the update of the organisation’s website


 You should have the following skills and qualities

  • A completed university degree in a relevant field
  • Demonstrated interest in the field of EU’s External Relations
  • Language skills: Fluent in English with good analytical and drafting skills. Knowledge of French, other EU languages or Armenian will be considered an asset
  • Knowledge of EU institutions
  • Knowledge about Eastern Europe and the Caucasus is an asset but not required – the motivation and ability to quickly learn about this highly interesting region and its political context are required
  • Applicants should be well-organised, self-motivated and reliable
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office, Internet applications) are required
  • Legal right to work in Belgium
